• "I think I might be into girls.": Ladies, don't act like you don't know that most guys like girls who like girls. If you are telling this little white lie to see if it turns your man on, you may be leaving him disappointed when you finally say, "just kidding." Playing with a man's sexual fantasies is like a man playing with your emotions. It's either you are into gurls or not.

• "I'm pregnant.": This is one you don't even pull out on April Fool's Day. Depending on the reaction, this joke can leave either party hurt. If he responds with disappointment, you may end up upset that he has no interest in having kids with you. If he responds with happiness and joy, you may hurt his heart when you tell him it's not true.

• "I think we should see other people."
  Who jokes about this? Teasing your man about wanting to break up will have have him thinking there's some truth behind the joke. You don't ever say you want to see other people when you're in a relationship unless you've thought about seeing other people. The relationship could be ruined once the joke festers in his head and he starts believing you already have.

• "You don't satisfy me": Don't ever bruise a man's ego and say this, unless you mean it. Joking about a man's sexual performance may put your man in an insecure state, leading to other problems later in the relationship.

• "We should get married.": More than likely if you're joking about this, you're half serious. Telling a man you are ready to get married in order to feel out where he stands might backfire on you. Even after you say you're bluffing, your man will think you're serious and he may begin to fall back from the relationship, scared to take that leap.

How To Apply Blush

Many women avoid blush especially women of color, but what I have realised is, it is a very improtant aspect of beauty and it can be a beauty secret weapon if applied appropriately. The problem is, blush tends to be overused atimes. Some ladies use it to hide imperfections caused by burns or what have you. To avoid looking like a clown, try these steps to choosing blush and applying it.
Note: When applying blush, you want the color to look soft and natural, as if it comes from within.

• Choose a color that matches your skin undertone, or you can match it with your lip color. Fair skins usually go well with colors in peach, rose, pink and dark skin plum or red.

• There is usually a small blush brush that comes with the blush when you buy, i would advice you throw that away. Use a professional full brush instead, a brush that is designed specially for applying blush, but don't use the same brush you use for your powder.

• Put the blush on your brush, tapping off any excess or put a dab of gel on your fingers(this applies if you are using blushe that comes in gel form).

• Now look into the mirror and smile. This helps you figure out where the 'apple' of your cheek is. It is usually best to apply blush only on the apple of your cheeks and blend it outward.

• It is possible you might have gone a bit too heavy on the powder blush, a bit of translucent powder over it will calm it down. For cream blush, blot the color off with a tissue. Since gel & liquid blush 'stain' the cheeks, the only way to lighten them is it wash your face, moisturize and reapply your makeup, this time more sparingly.

• If you have two shades, apply the darker one on the apple of the cheek first, then use the lighter shade to highlight. Blend well so there is no visible line between colors.

• Highlight your temples, forehead and chin.

• Finish your look with a sweep of loose powder and tell me if you like what you see?......

Patti LaBelle to Play The Role of Fela Kuti’s Mother in Award-Winning Broadway Musical FELA

Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum recording artist Patti LaBelle will join the cast of the award-winning Broadway musical FELA! on September 14, when she takes over the role of revered Nigerian musician Fela Kuti’s mother, Funmilayo Anikulapo-Kuti.

“I am both thrilled and honoured to be joining the cast of FELA! After seeing the show, I was struck by the choreography and work of Bill T Jones, and the passion and joy that overflows from the stage.

“Funmilayo was an inspiring woman, and I am so privileged to be able to pay tribute to her on the Broadway stage,” says LaBelle.

The Kutis were held in high esteem. Fela’s father was a reverend, while his mother was a school teacher – and the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria. A strong character, she watched her son constantly persecuted for his belief as he fearlessly attacked the government on its excesses.

A brilliant lyricist and saxophonist, Fela’s Afrobeat music remains timeless. But it’s not only his music that is a source of memory, but also his unbelievable stamina that saw him having lots of women. He made history when he married 27 women – all his backing vocalists – in one ceremony.

Steps to Beautiful Eyebrows.....

The above diagram,gives some basic guidelines for shaping and filling your eyebrows using a pencil. Every set of eyebrows are unique in their own way, but generally, try to follow your natural brow arc.

1.A vertical line from side of your nostril straight up, usually is the starting point of your eyebrow.

2. A straight line from the side of your nostril, along side the outer corner of your eye, up to your brow area, will be the finishing point of your brow. Now, if you feel the resulting brow based on the starting and ending points works, pluck the hairs that are outside of the new brow area.
Note:Don't pluck brow hair above your eyebrow.

3. The third imaginary line, will create the shape of your brow. Try to work with your natural brow shape and work in proportion to your face. Don't force a big arc where naturally is a fairly straight line. A straight line on subtle upward angle, that finishes in a soft arc over the outer third of the eye, is a formula that suits many. Every thing under that line is to be plucked (usually just strays).

If your brows are very fair and/ or sparse, you can successfully achieve eyebrow impact, with a good, well matched to your coloring, eye brow pencil. Use fine, little strokes, to create the appearance of hairs. Then use a brush to soften the lines.

You should pluck eyebrows before bedtime so any redness will disappear overnight.(especially for light skinned ladies).

Pluck each hair individually close to the root. Work in the direction of the growth.

Did you know that brows should be a little lighter than your hair color? Yes, it's true...about two shades.

So ladies lets get those brows nicely shaped for that perfect look cuz your brows add strenght and definition to your face......

Ultima Studios Burnt to Ashes

Ultima Studios, located on Plot 45 Omole Industrial Layout, Isheri/Ogba Junction, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos has been badly damaged after a mysterious fire on the premises spiraled out of control.

No casualties were reported.

Ultima Studios is owned by Ultima Ltd, a Lagos-based TV production company responsible for such popular TV shows as Who Wants to be a Millionaire (Nigeria) and Project Fame West Africa. The shows were routinely shot at the studio from where they were broadcasted to the rest of the country.

It was reported that the building caught fire when an air-conditioner suddenly blew off, and the contestants’ efforts to put out the fire with extinguishers failed to contain the inferno. The resulting catastrophe reportedly destroyed production equipment worth over a billion naira

According to the CEO of Ultima Ltd, Mr Femi Ayeni, the damage would have been fifty percent averted if men of the Fire Service had arrived on time; Fire Service got to the Isheri/Ogba Junction scene when the damage had already been done.

The Project Fame contestants were swiftly moved into a close-by hotel and no casualty was recorded.

Sources close to the producers quoted an executive as saying ‘the show must go on!’

Miss Mexico Crowned Miss Universe

22-year-old Jimena Navarrete of Guadalajara, Mexico is the new Miss Universe. Navarrette won last night's pageant held at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Navarrete replaces Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela stopping the country's two-year winning streak.

Besides the crown, Jimena's winnings also include an undisclosed salary, a luxury New York apartment with living expenses, a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy with housing after her reign, plus jewelry, clothes and shoes.

Concealer Can Be Your Best Friend

How many times has it intimidated us because we're not sure how or when to use it? There is a shade for you and a way to match your skin tone perfectly. As a makeup artist, I work will all skin tones and sometimes I have to mix colors to find the perfect shade for that face. Once applied correctly, concealer can be your best friend. Here are a few tips to making it work for you:

• First, take a mirror and look very closely at your face. Most women have at least two tones in their skin, while some women have more and this might be due to exposure of sun or wrong cream useage. Don't be afraid to take your time and try different shades. Once blended correctly, the result is magical.

• You want to try and find a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin while considering your foundation shade. Try the concealer with your foundation applied on one side and also without foundation on the other side. See if your foundation is affecting the tone and whether you can wear the concealer alone. Once you have found the right shade(s), then its time to prep.

• Make sure you mosturize under the eye properly with a good eye cream. Concealer doesn't sit well on dry skin. Do not swipe or rub in the product. The eye area is so delicate, and you don't want to welcome the wrinkles that are just waiting to make an appearance by pulling or tugging. Always use your ring finger and pat gently.

• Your fingers are the best makeup tools, and they warm the product for a smooth easy application. Pat the product underneath the eye, and blend it down the face near your nose and then pat it back up to your outer eye (creating a filled-in triangle). You can also apply it on your brow bone and on any skin imperfections. Blend well by patting and finish with a light dusting of your favorite powder.

By using concealer correctly, you will instantly lift and brighten up your face and the result is a fresh, flawless face. So give it a try ok...........

Kween Comes Back Home

Kween Onokala is back in town, two years after leaving for London

The sexy singer was already on her way to joining the A-list, when she got pregnant for club proprietor Dotun Omotoye, in 2008. And, before anyone could spot the bump, she was off to London- her city of refuge. London it was, that Kween gave birth to her first child Tyresse nearly 10 years ago.

She gave birth to her second boy Tyronne, in London on Saturday January 31, 2009 and even though she promised to return on time to get married (to fiancé Dotun Omotoye) resume work on her career and release her long overdue debut album, Ms Onokala remained away for two years, causing many to think she had bid Nigeria adieu for good.

Sources say Mr Omotoye spent some time in London last December; reuniting with Kween and Tyronne, and putting up solid machinery for their return.

On Thursday August 5, Kween quietly returned home with her babies. No word yet on her wedding; but a spokesperson tells us she’s finally ready to release her album Thy Kweendom Come.

‘She’s back for good‘, said her rep.

Tiger Woods Divorce Finalized

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordgren are officially no more. The couple finalized their divorce in a Panama City, FL courtroom Monday morning.

"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," they said in a statement released by Nordegren's Virginia-based law firm of McGuireWoods. "While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

The exact settlement details have yet to be disclosed but reports claim Elin could have received anywhere from $100 to $500 million in assets from Woods. The couple will both be sharing custody of their two children, Sam Alexis, 3 and Charlie Axel, 18 months. The couple was required to take a 4-hour parenting course prior to finalizing their divorce.

Although Elin signed a prenuptial agreement, sources say that the terms were renegotiated after Woods' sex scandal surfaced.

Mother Reportedly Suffocates, then Drowns Sons

Twenty-nine-year-old Shaquan Duley told police that she suffocated her two toddlers in a motel before strapping them into their car seats and driving them off a boat ramp on the banks of the Edisto River in South Carolina. Authorities reported that she wasn’t a seasoned criminal, but rather an angry and unemployed mother unable to support her toddlers. “She just wanted to get rid of her children, sad as it may be,” said Sheriff Larry Williams.

So me just talking.......

So its a friday night and am here seated at home all alone, weird right? I mean, I could be somewhere partying the night away or catching a few movies or simply having a few drinks with friends, but rather I chose to sit down at home, listen to music and blog the night away...lol...but now am bored and wishing I had made other plans for the night. So friends you will all have to bear with me as I, ramble on to cure the boredom.

So what do I talk about.....Yeah that reminds me, what is it with guys this days, I mean whenever we ladies come up with a new fashion trend, before you know it, guys are wearing or doing almost thesame thing. Seriously, when we wear low neck stuffs to reveal some cleavages, trust me guys are also wearing V-neck shaped tops to reveal what I dont know exactly...(maybe some chest hair, which I wonder, whats so sexy about that?). Now we are into the skinny jeans era, am sure you have seen guys wearing those as well especially the ones with the turn up at the bottom? We wear earrings, they do as well, we weave our hair, and they do that as well, I mean what is left is for them to put on high waist skirts or more like high waist pants...(that would look ridiculous on them though...lol). They even go as far as painting their nails, don't tell me you haven't seen a guy wearing cutex, I was shocked the first time I saw it aswell, thought it was only rock stars that wear them, but I saw a proper Naija guy ....well maybe he was gay, I wouldn't know, but it just felt weird for me. We carry handbags, they also have long strap bags they carry.

Well, it just shows that one way or the other we tend to rub off on each other, picking things, or characteristics or traits from one another. I guess that was the origanl intention Biblically, when God took one of mans ribs to make woman...lol

Anyways guys, no offense, this is just me talking. We love you no matter whichever of our styles you decide to take aslong as they suit you. The good thing is you are not wearing lipsticks yet...lol..

Parents worried about daughters getting pregnant may keep impressing on them that they mustn't get carried away. It is small wonder that, when they have a partner, they can't suddenly undo all those lessons to their sub-conscious.

Before a woman who has never experienced an orgasm can help her partner to help her to climax, she has to learn for herself what pleases her. Sex is a positive pleasure, and there is nothing wrong with enjoying it, even when you are alone.

Having given yourself permission to enjoy your sexuality, you have to find out what turns you on, explore the effect of different caresses of the genital area.

There is nothing wrong with self-stimulation - in fact it is a basic part of the treatment prescribed by sex therapists.

It's not stimulation of the vagina, by the way, but of the clitoris that leads to orgasm for most women - the clitoris is the little peak you can feel in the front of the vagina.

When you have an orgasm it feels like an internal throbbing. The intensity varies widely. It can be fierce and wild, it may be quiet and sensuous. The common denominator is it certainly should feel pleasurable.

Some women learn how to masturbate, perhaps as teenagers, but find they are unable to reach a climax with their partner, even if he stimulates them in a similar way.

The most likely cause of this is a variation on the inhibited feelings mentioned before. Their sub-conscious will not let them admit to anyone else that they are enjoying sex.

Sharing regular sessions of all-over massage can help a couple start communicating physically and sexually. Use a little cream or oil, massage and stroke one another all over. Say what feels good and what not-so-good.

When the time feels right, you can begin showing one another how to give the most pleasure by stroking and massaging the sexual areas, too. The only rule is that you should both enjoy it.

Of course, it is important for the man to be sure that the woman is really aroused before he attempts intercourse, so they must share lots of loving foreplay first.

Also the man has to be able to sustain intercourse for a reasonable length of time, since it is important to keep stimulating a woman right up to and during orgasm.

Reaching a climax needs some muscle tension and you can give this a nudge in the right direction.

You need to have at least half an hour of foreplay to be sure the woman is fully aroused. Then she shouldn't try to relax but tense the pelvic-floor muscle (if you're unsure how to do this, my free leaflet on increasing sexual sensation explains).

If she then arches her back and puts her head back, this gets her body in the right position to reach climax, as long as her partner carries on pleasuring her.

Assuming a couple feel free to experiment with what feels good to them, then they have a good chance of discovering what will lead to the woman achieving full sexual satisfaction pretty frequently, if not every time.

However, some couples experiment with different positions and techniques and still draw a blank. Too much alcohol can dry up the vaginal secretions and reduce the blood flow to the sex organs. This in turn can make sex more painful and will affect a woman's ability to have an orgasm.

Loss of orgasm can also be linked with major changes in a woman's life such as childbirth or the menopause. Depression can severely damp down sexual feelings. It could be that she's had a bad sexual experience in the past or that there's some problem in her relationship with her partner, and unaided you can't stop it getting in the way.
