Time to Turn on Each other and Turn off Those Gadgets.......

Are you on the internet 24/7? Do you update your Facebook status several times a day? Must you tweet your every move? Do you take your eyes off your BlackBerry or you are always pinging..... Well here is a little something to ponder on...read on and learn.

In an era in which we are all so plugged in, why are we disconnecting from those we are supposed to be closest to?Technology is supposed to make our lives easier, but when we plug into tech, we unplug from those around us. How many times have you asked a loved one a question while they're on the computer, and after waiting 10-15 seconds received a "What did you say?" How many dinners or lunches have you sat through and had more conversation with the person you're texting than the one sitting in front of you? How many hours have you tuned out watching mindless TV in order to escape from the stresses of daily life? How many blisters and calluses have you accrued on your hands from hours of gaming? As a nation we have become complacent in our relationships, and it is this lack of bonding time and connection that leads to broken relationships.

It's time to do a test to see just how disconnected you are from the people closest to you. Add up all the time you spend on the phone (texting and talking), on the computer (working and playing) and in front of the TV (watching and gaming), over the course of three days. Now compare that to how much time you spend with your significant other (not including sleep hours) over the course of those three days. For most of you this will be a sobering realization of how little time, work and effort you put into maintaining a healthy and loving relationship.

It's time to set boundaries and re-evaluate your love values. When was the last time you had a date night and focused solely on your partner? When was the last time you made love? How long has it been since you had a conversation that didn't focus on work, the kids and your schedule? If you value your relationship, and want to spend your life with someone special, then turn off the tech. No more laptops, cell phones, TV's, Wii's, Play Stations, or any other gadgets or doodads in the bedroom. Turn your love nest into a no-tech zone, and focus on reconnecting with sensuality, intimacy and sexuality. If you want to keep the flame burning bright in your relationship, then the only surfing you should be doing is body surfing.

Am sure this piece is addressed to alot of us out there including me...(here I am blogging..lol). So like the article said, it's time to set boundaries and re-evaluate your love values and relationships.

Have Fun Laughing.......

To My Dear Spouse...

O MY DEAR WIFE,
During the past year I have tried to make love to you 365 times. I have succeeded 36 days. The following is a list of why I did not succeed more often:

54 times the sheets were clean
17 times it was too late
49 times you were too tired
20 times it was too hot
5 times you pretended to be asleep
22 times you had a headache
17 times you were afraid of waking the baby
16 times you said you were too sore
12 times it was the wrong time of the month
19 times you had to get up early
9 times you said weren't in the mood
7 times you were sunburned
6 times you were watching the late show
5 times you didn't want to muss your new hairdo
3 times you said the neighbors would hear us
9 times you said your mother would hear us

Of the 36 times I did succeed, the activity was not satisfactory
because:
6 times you just laid there,
8 times you reminded me there's a crack in the ceiling,
4 times you told me to hurry up and get it over with,
7 times I had to wake you and tell you I finished, and one time I was afraid I had hurt you because I felt you move.

TO MY DEAR HUSBAND:
I think you have things a little confused. Here are the reasons you
didn't get more than you did:

5 times you came home drunk and tried to screw the cat
36 times you did not come home at all
21 times you didn't cum
33 times you came too soon
19 times you went soft before you got in
38 times you worked too late
10 times you got cramps in your toes
29 times you had to get up early to play golf
2 times you were in a fight and someone kicked you in the balls
4 times you got it stuck in your zipper
3 times you had a cold and your nose was running
2 times you had a splinter in your finger
20 times you lost the notion after thinking about it all day
6 times you came in your pajamas while reading a dirty book
98 times you were too busy watching football, baseball, etc. on TV.

Of the times we did get together the reason I laid still was because you missed and were screwing the sheets. I wasn't talking about the crack in the ceiling, what I said was , "would you prefer me on my back or kneeling?" The time you felt me move was because you farted and I was trying to breathe.

I hope you enjoyed that joke cuz I did....

100 year old Titanic actress dies

Los Angeles – Gloria Stuart, the Hollywood actress of the 1930s who gained an Oscar nomination 60 years later for her role as the spunky survivor in Titanic, has died. She was 100.
Her grandson, Benjamin Stuart Thompson, says Stuart died in her sleep on Sunday night at her Los Angeles home.
In her youth, Stuart was a blonde beauty who starred in B pictures as well as higher-profile ones like The Invisible Man and two Shirley Temple movies.
She resumed acting occasionally in later years and was selected to play the elderly Titanic survivor portrayed by Kate Winslet as a young woman.
The 1997 Titanic became the biggest modern blockbuster up to that point.
Both Winslet and Stuart, then 87, were nominated for Oscars.

Some Do's and Dont's Tips on Skin Care

Our skin is the most obvious part of our body and we owe it to ourselves to take great care of it especially the skin on our face, and this involves keeping it glowing and smooth. Here are a few tips focusing on the face that can help achieve this goal:
  • DO: Wash your face daily with a gentle cleanser. It's imperative to wash at night to remove the day's sweat and oil and also make up.
  • DON'T: Go to bed with your makeup on....It can clog your pores and lead to breakouts. You also want to use a good eye-makeup remover at night to ensure proper removal.
  • DO: A good exfoliator twice a week would do you good. The skin regenerates rather quickly, and you want to reveal your best skin by removing dead skin cells.
  • DON'T: Exfoliate during your menstrual cycle. Your hormones are off the hook during this time, and exfoliating might irritate the skin (sometimes enough to make you break out).
  • DO: Keep your lips moisturized night AND day. Again, nighttime is a great opportunity to slather on the balm.
  • DO: Start taking special care of your skin in your twenties. It pays to start early!
  • DON'T: Believe that you don't need expensive products to achieve great skin. Remember there is a product for everyone and for every budget. Just be gentle with your skin, and it will love you back for years to come.
