Eyeliner Advice

For those of us who have decided to take the whole looking good aspect seriously, here are some few tips and advice on applying eyeliner. The eyeliner can be one of the trickiest aspect of makeup especially when applied, but the beauty of it is when it is applied properly, the effect can be amazing. Most people wonder what the importance is, well lets try a little experiment, apply your makeup (eyeshadow and everyother thing), line one eye and leave the other not lined, look at yourself in the mirror and you will see the difference. It opens up your eyes more making it pop, and makes it look more elegant and sleek.

You can use an eyeliner pencil, a liquid liner or an eyeliner brush dipped into a deep shadow to line eyes.

• Eyeliner should be applied close to the base of the eyelashes.Hold your head down and look down into the mirror, practise makes perfect.

•  liquid eyeliner can be lined from the inside of the lashes outward in one big sweep. You can also line the eye from the middle of the lash line outward, then finish the line from the inner corner of the eye to the middle.(liquid liner can only be applied on the eyelid and not under and it is better to keep your eyes closed when applying a liquid liner)
• If you make a mistake, don't panic, just take a cotton bud, dip it in makeup remover or a mosturizer cream and dab on the spot that needs to be corrected.
• If you are using a pencil  and its too hard, run it under hot water to make it soft so it can glide on easily.

US Based Makeup Artist and Gele(head gear) expert, Hakeem Oluwasegun Olaleye , a.k.a Segun Gele has made a name for himself in the United States of America as an expert in creating show-stopping headgear (gele) styles and beautiful makeover. He has made a living out of tying gele and has transformed hundreds of brides on their wedding day.

Segun Gele, who arrived in US from Nigeria in 2003, has successfully built his brand into a flourishing business and a household name. He is presently cleaning out big in America .He was recently on the American Cable News Network, CNN, which was fascinated by his exotic headgear and makeup. The latest gist about this talented makeup artist had to do with the matters of the heart. On Thursday December 23, 2010. Segun Gele walked down the aisle with his heartthrob, Morenike Oluwafunmilola Sotunde, a Customer Service Rep at the Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, MM2, Lagos.

The news of his wedding actually came as surprised to a lot of people, reason been that he has been very engrossed in his work and this year, had been a good one for him as he has been shuttling between UK and America, and even Nigeria as the demand for his work increased unprecedently. So it was surprising to a lot of people when he officially announced his wedding, a couple of weeks back. He arrived in the country, few weeks back to finalize the plans.

The marital rites commenced in the early hours of Thursday at the Bride’s residence in Surulere. This was followed by the holy solemnization at the African Bethlehem Church, Ebute Meta, Lagos.Guests were afterwards treated to an A-class reception at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Staff School Hall, Lagos.

New Year, New Look, New Style.....

2010 is gone and only to be remembered, this is 2011. It is time to adopt new looks and style if you have had one before and if you don't, it is time develop one. For we ladies, it is time to be head turners (u know what I mean by that).

Last year you walk into a bar, or an event, or even church and heads turn and instead of with admiration, you get looks like: ''Ugh, what was he/she thinking when he/she got dressed?, Did she look into a mirror at all?, she must use one pack of foundation a week if she has that much on her face, and soon''........Don't you think it is time to put a stop to this? Don't you read magazines, watch E! on DSTV?, Don't you want to be fashionable? Let me tell you, it really isn't that hard to look good(and this applies to the guys aswell). It isn't until you get the help of a fashion stylist or makeup artist that you can look your best (ain't trying to run stylist and makeup artsit down...am one of u guys..*winks*).

To look good doesn't need to cost much. You just need to know how to combine and mix where necessary. Am not going to start giving lessons on how to look good now, but I just wanna say that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve it. Its another year, lets endeavour to improve or develop our style and looks cuz the way you are dressed so shall you be addressed.

Happy new year guys, let's all be thankful we are alive to see another decade. Permit me to say a little prayer, it's going to be a glorious, successful year, so rejoice cuz we made it....yippeee!!!!!

Workaholics out there, this year you should try and find time to rest and catch some good sleep because researchers have observed that sleep deprived people are less attractive, less healthy and more tired....so work hard guys but still find time to rest.
