Hair and Beauty Looks On The Runway At AMFW

The hair team led by London based Johnine Sapong (Jed Root) of Ghanian origin with support from Nigeria’s Hair Limited worked tirelessly and back to back to sculpt, shape and churn out different hair looks for all the shows. They worked side by side with the make up team, led by Becks Buki and Philip, using Black Up products with support from the Black Up team featuring – Bayo Haastrup, Bimpe Ogunmakin and a host of others. It must have been an ardous task – to create, recreate and touch up all the looks to ensure that what went down the runway had a flow with the entire collection.
Hats, headwraps, cherries, jewelled pieces or simple ponytails and bangs were sent down the runway day in day out. From barely there make up to orange red lipsticks, plum lipsticks with beautiful well arched eyebrows and smoky eyes, the hair and make up team served it!

Wyclef Jean shot in the hand in Haiti

Wyclef Jean, the popular hip-hop singer, was shot in the hand on Saturday night in Haiti, according to a statement from Cindy Tanenbaum, his publicist.
The shooting happened in the Delmas section of the capital, Port-au-Prince.
Tanenbaum described the wound as "minor."
"He was immediately taken to the hospital, treated for a minor graze to his hand and released," she said. "He is fine."
In August, when Jean was considering a run for the President of Haiti, he was forced into hiding after receiving death threats. But the musician, who went to high school in Newark and whose family lives in Saddle River, has since been back in the spotlight campaigning for his friend Michel Martelly, also known as "Sweet Mickey."

The History of Makeup

We know that for centuries, both men and women have enjoyed the indulgence of face makeup. But the history of face makeup dates thousands of years back to the 1 st Century Egyptians. This is not to say that the Egyptians were the first to use face makeup, rather they were among the first to document the importance of face makeup as an important part of culture as seen in the discovery of ancient Egyptian tomb paintings. Egyptians used natural ingredients such as unguent, a hydrating substance, and kohl, soot, to beautify the skin and appearance.   Egyptians were well aware of the beauty of soft skin and seductive eyes.      The 1 st century also showed the Roman use of kohl for eye makeup and eyelash makeup. The Romans also used chalk as a skin whitener and rouge. The Greco-Roman and Persian influences added the use of henna dyes to stain the face and hair.

Have Fun Laughing.......

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.
He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom.
While he's in there, the husband tells his wife: "Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants s*x, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll k*ll us. Be strong, honey. I love you."
To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He was whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"

Trying My Hands On Creativity......

What do you think...I try??????

How To Apply Concealer

Cover up makeup is meant to even out your complexion. Concealers contain higher pigment concentration than your normal foundation so they are more opaque and feel thicker. They're designed to be used for “spot concealing” blemishes, scars and discoloration.
Professional professional coverup products have the highest amount of pigment. This means it must be blended very well. Use a brush or sponge made especially for the purpose. Blending will make it look like your own skin.

Saidi Balogun & Kate Henshaw-Nuttall star in Eti Keta (Third Party) – The First “100% Ankara Movie”

It has been labelled by the filmmaker as the first and only “100% Ankara Movie” ever produced. For actor/filmmaker, Saidi Balogun, his movie “Eti Keta” (Third Party) is beyond a movie, it is a labour of love and a celebration of our rich and diverse African culture. Saidi was inspired to produce the movie after the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation challenged filmmakers to create movies that “complement our culture, promote tourism and preach the gospel of the made in Nigeria goods.”
Though the movie was filmed and screened in 2010, according to the filmmaker,  2011 is the year that “Eti Keta” will be unveiled to the world. The current plan is to enter the movie for international film festivals and roll it out for wide release in Nigerian cinemas.
