Ghanaian Actress Leonora Okine is the New “Angela Dede” on M-Net’s Tinsel and Replaces Matilda Obaseki

M-Net’s “Tinsel“, the Nigeria-based soap opera TV series has made a major cast change. One of the series’ key characters “Angela Dede” has been played by Nigerian actress Matilda Obaseki since the inception of the show, Matilda has now been replaced by Ghanaian Actress Leonora Okine.

Fans were not informed of the change prior to the appearance of the new actress on TV screens during Season 5, Episode 776 of the series, fans reacted by commenting via social media sites Facebook and Twitter.

Matilda Obaseki’s had garnered award nominations for her delivery of the Angela Dede role especially given the challenges involved in playing the role of the troubled yet determined mentally ill young woman with dignity rather than as a caricature.

The actress announced her engagement in March 2012 and is pregnant with her first child.

No official word from M-Net on if this is a permanent or temporary (maternity leave) change. This is not the first time the series is swapping one of its leading actresses, the roles of Amaka Okoh and Brenda Mensah have both been recast during the course of the series.

Leonora has previously featured in Ghanaian TV series and movies including “Different Shades of Blue” and ”Blood & Chocolate”.

Official statement from M-Net

M-Net wishes to advise Tinsel fans that Matilda Obaseki, who plays the role of Angela Dede, is currently on leave and will be temporarily replaced by Leonora Okine.

M-Net joins the Tinsel cast and crew in sending Matilda their love and best wishes and are looking forward to her return to set later in the year.

In the interim, the producers would like to welcome the very talented Leonara to the Tinsel family.

Permanent Eyebrows- The Pros & Cons

Permanent makeup, specifically permanent eyebrows, may seem like a good, time-saving idea. Women with sparse eyebrows or no eyebrows at all may be swayed by the fact that permanent eyebrows can give the look of eyebrows without having to fuss with eyebrow pencils and brushes. But permanent makeup is not without cons, and the cons should be carefully weight against the pros to make a decision of a permanent nature. I personally think the cons weigh more than the pros...

Pro: Time

Having your eyebrows permanently tattooed on can significantly reduce your makeup routine. When you are constantly applying your eyebrows with makeup, it takes to time to draw them on with the eyebrow pencil and then fill them with eyebrow corrector. Tattooed brows removed that aspect of your makeup routine.

Con: Pain

Anyone who has had a tattoo done can attest to the fact that it has a degree of pain involved. Having permanent eyebrows tattooed on the delicate skin above your eyes can be a painful process. Luckily, according to WomenFitness.net, the pain is short-lived, as the eyebrow area is fairly small and quick to do.

Pro: Defined Face

Permanent eyebrows are highly sought-after because of the way that they can define a face. A well placed, well shaped eyebrow can make the face look thinner and more polished and even help to make eyes look wider. Some women may even choose to remove their natural brows altogether in favor of permanent ones that are easier to maintain and care for.

Con: Changing Styles

While the eyebrow shape that you choose today may be very much en vogue, the changing styles may render your permanent eyebrows out of date and dowdy. Decades ago, perfectly shaped brows were the fashion, but the trends have changed and gravitated toward larger and more unkempt brows at times. Keep in mind that choosing one shape of brow may be in fashion today, but not tomorrow. Also alot of times the shape isn't gotten and it ends up looking tacky or disfiguring the beauty of the face.

Pro: Hair Loss Correction

Some women and men suffer from a condition called alopecia, which causes them to lose all of the hair on their bodies, including the hair from their eyebrows. Permanent makeup can help them to restore their eyebrows by giving the right color and shape, helping to camouflage their condition.

Con: Infection and Sensitivity

Having your eyebrows permanently tattooed on your face could cause some infection and problems when you are finished. According to WomenFitness.net, some women develop keloids, or puffy scars, after having this treatment done. If you have a history of sensitive skin and scarring, this may not be a good choice for you.

Don't You Just Love a Bold Orange-Red Lips??

I came across this color of lipstick some days ago, its so bold and lovely. and you know the most amazing thing of all, it's very very affordable. The brand name is called 'Jacqueline'....don't exactly know what the color number is, I would check it out much later, but it's about N200-N250 tops. So you see, it doesn't have to be expensive to look good, sometimes, you can make those very cheap things look expensive the way you wear them and carry them, just like the way this is on me........*battling my lashes*......lol

Color Blocking Nails

Color blocking is the new trend in fashion right now, and it isn't limited to just cloths, but virtually every form of fashion, be it Makeup, Nails and even shoes. One cool thing about color blocking is that, it reduces the hassle of matches your nail color to outfits every single time. Generally, once a single color on the nails is worn then you have to look for garments that go with it

1. Decide how to color in

Color blocking your nails is not all that difficult. Decide how you want to go about your color blocking. There are many ways in which you can wear shades to make them clash with each other. First, you can paint every single nail in a different color. So each finger nail has a different color. You can make patterns on your nails like stripes, boxes, V incisions, dots, etc. You can also color your nails in bands of different hues either lengthwise or along the breadth. Stripes or bands can be done horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Another great idea is to just color the outer tip of your nail in a hue that contrasts with the nail enamel on the base. Patterns of start, cherries or fruits are quite perky. Add a chilling touch with skulls, cross bones, and winged bats. Tweens can go for smiley faces and eyes popping out on their nails.

2. Pick the hues carefully

The basic principle of color blocking is to wear colors that contrast, you have to do just the same with your nails. Do not pick similar looking colors instead go for shades that stand out against each other. They should be enticing and grab attention. But picking dull or light hues that contrast is no good. In color blacking, the hues should look prominent. The colors should be saturated and deep. Loud colors that dazzle and command attention are a must. With cool tones tones, you can add a silvery gleam to your nails. But if you choose warmers shades for color blocking, then paint a daub of golden also.

3. Some terrific combos

Combine neutrals hues with bright pops of red, green and blue. You can also complement neons with subtle hues or neutrals. Try traditional color combinations that have always been a favorite. Pink and blue co-ordinate well while pick with red makes quite a statement. You can also apply green and purple together on your nails. Purple with orange is a good twist. Green and blue, blue and white, red and sunny yellow, red and green are very good ideas. Go gothic by combining violet, crimson, and black together. Olive green with mustard yellow is also jazzy. Cobalt blue and minty green is another groovy mix. Use shades of brown, tan, red, and orange together on the nails.

4. Use stick on tape

You can use strips of scotch tape to color block he nails. You just need to adhere these strips on your fingernails. Then paint the nails with the strips glues on. This helps to prevent smudges and the paint comes out really neat. You can also cover the design made by one paint color with the tape. After the design has been secured with a tape over it, start coloring nails with the second hue. There are only straight and clear lines and no blotching. After you are done, remove the tape from your fingers. Clean out any color along the sides.

5. Let them dry

After coloring nails, give them sufficient time to dry out. The best way is to apply one color at a time. Pick one hues and coat your nails with it. If you need two coats for the color to come out, do that. Only after the first color has dried, start applying the other hues. Repeat the process for the next color also. Only when the preceding color has dried out completely can you apply the next shade on your nails.
