Womenswear brand, Simeogieme (pronounced “Simeo-Giem”) by Osime Saibu, presents its Ready-to-Wear collection for 2016 titled “Lines & Colours“. See TY Bello's New Look as She Chops off Her Signature Afro

She showed off the new look on Instagram and explained why she decided to do the big chop.

She wrote:

THE BARBERS SEAT:The first time I cut my hair was when I was nine. I had been giving my mum hell on sunday evenings when it was time to get it woven for school. She just decided to put an end to my nonsense and took me to Baba Barber in Obalende.

I remember being strapped to his squeaky old ,reclined metal and torn brown leatherchair … It must have taken four adults to hold me down .

I can never forget.. How can I ? Baba gave me the full treatment . He was determined to impress my mother . He not only shaved off all my hair .. He took off every strand that lined my face and replaced it with a sharp concave line from ear to ear with his manual rusty clippers .. I was devastated . I walked into class the next day greeted with what sounded like a silent but long eeeeeeew from every one.

The experience marred me.. I’ve seen baba in a few nightmares attempting to dispossess me of my Afro . So imagine my horror when my hair started dramatically falling out two months after my boys were born.

I was deluded by someone who told me I was lucky to be carrying boys as ‘boys don’t take you hair away ‘ they give you even more .. She was right.. Initially at least ..Never had better hair than when I was pregnant .. So slowly but surely Baba barber was beckoning another visit .. But I decided that this time around ..it was going to be on my own terms .. I was going to love my scalp back to a happy place and then cut hair myself when the time was right … Just to start over.

Today was that day ..a shoot didn’t happen so I had a lil time in my hands I chopped it all off.. ?Not with old rusty clippers but my own scissors ..It makes me look even more like my mum..

So will I be missing my big fro?Absolutely!!But then again ..I’m a Nigerian woman in 2015 and I watch YouTube ?I know a thousand ways to get that baby bouncing in air again ..In a heartbeat .. I’ll just have fun with this in the mean time.I think I did better than baba barber tho. #bigchop #freshstart photographed by @riasolanke at the studio.

The Evolution of Foundation for Women of Colour (Dark skin)

Over time, beauty brands are beginning to extend their colour ranges to suit all races unlike not so long ago, finding foundation for dark skin was almost impossible..

I remember a time when the powders that existed for dark skin tone was almost like clay colour, giving you that orange tone with the likes of 'sweet sixteen'...oh my mum used that powder a lot. We would call it 'brown powder' or pancake....

If I remember correctly, Avon was about the only brand I saw that had much of a semblance to what we have now for dark skin tone. I had an Aunt that used to bring Avon with her whenever she came visiting from the States.

Fast forward to the 2000s and it is a different atmosphere entirely. You would find big and small brands, from the expensive to the inexpensive with a broad spectrum of shades formulated to fit dark skin tones. You can find this in Elizabeth Arden, Revlon, MAC, Lancome, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Maybelline, and the list is just endless..

Irrespective of this long list, a lot of women are still searching for that perfect foundation blend. We all want that perfect shade and finishing, that suits our skin type be it oily or dry, that would last all day and has skin care properties eg SPF, anti-ageing etc.. As for me I don't really think such perfect foundation exists, please I stand to be corrected if wrong, but you might find something close enough to what you are searching for.

But the god news is that, no matter what your skin tone looks like, be it as dark as Lupita Nyong or as light as Kerry Washington, your colour match exists out there.

Kim Kardashian Reveals the Exact Contouring Products She Uses

PHOTO: COURTESY OF KIMKARDASHIANWEST.COM
We all know if it weren't for Kim Kardashian, a lot of us would have no idea what contouring is. So who better to teach us how to master the face-slimming makeup trick better than Kardashian herself?
She posted a makeup tutorial on her app explaining how to re-create her makeup from the Armenian Bar Association Dinner back in June. In the video, she says the first thing she does is apply the Giorgio Armani Designer Shaping Cream Foundation in circular motions all over her face. Kardashian's helpful foundation tip: "Don't forget to carry your foundation down your neck." Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda Tinted Cream is a good replacement.
Kardashian begins her contour process by brushing a matte bronzer down the sides of her nose using Smashbox Sunkissed Matte Bronzer. "Take a light powder down the bridge of your nose to highlight," says Kardashian. Her powder of choice is Sephora Bright Set Finishing Powder. "Using a damp Beautyblender, apply a highlighting concealer under your eyes in a V shape to make your cheekbones pop," she says. Kardashian likes M.A.C. Studio Fix Concealer NC 20. She then sets her makeup with loose powder so she doesn't lose all her hard work. Then she adds blush to the apples of her cheeks. Kardashian uses Nars Blush in Orgasm. And to finish it all off, Kardashian applies the powder highlighter to the tops of her cheekbones and contours the hollows of her cheekbones with the matte bronzer.
Check out the teaser video to see how she lines her lips and what lipstick she used for the look:

Skin Tags- A Cosmetic Nightmare

Hello Everyone,

So I noticed on my skin especially around my face, neck and Stomach area a lot of black moles developing. My sister saw it and she made me understand they were called skin tags. I had  no idea prior to that what they were. I had tried to pull it out but it hurts when I try so  I just left them alone.

She mentioned they can be removed and I should just search online for ways to remove it. And I discovered the easiest way for me was the Apple Cidar Vinegar method. I have to say it actually worked.

Skin tags can appear on any part of the surface of the body (skin), but most typically exist in areas where skin may rub against skin, such as the:

Eyelids
Axillae (armpits)
Under the breasts
Groin
Upper chest
Neck.
Skin tags are invariably benign - non cancerous - tumors of the skin which cause no symptoms, unless it is repeatedly rubbed or scratched, as may happen with clothing, jewelry, or when shaving. Very large skin tags may burst under pressure.

Skin tags are composed of a core of fibers and ducts, nerve cells, fat cells, and a covering or epidermis.

Some people are more susceptible to tags, either because of their overweight, partly due to heredity, and often for unknown reasons. People with diabetes and pregnant women tend to be more prone to skin tags. Dermatologists say that skin tags affect males and females equally.
Some people may have had skin tags and never noticed them - they would have rubbed or fallen off painlessly. In most cases, however, they do not fall off.
The surface of skin tags may be smooth or irregular in appearance, they are often raised from the surface of the skin on fleshy peduncles (stalks). They are usually flesh-colored or slightly brownish.

Initially they are quite small, flattened like a pinhead bump. Skin tags can range in diameter from 2mm to 1cm; some may even reach 5cm. Read more - http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/67317.php

As skin tags more commonly occur in skin creases or fold, it is believed they are mainly caused by skin rubbing against skin.

So how do we get rid of them?  You can get rid of these annoying moles with apple cider vinegar. It’s a simple and popular method.

To do it, you first of all clean around the skin with warm water and soap. Let the skin dry, then scratch the tag gently. Try not to scratch it so hard that it bleeds. Place a cotton ball soaked with apple cider vinegar in a bandage against the skin tag.

The following morning, remove it and repeat. It usually only takes three to five days before the skin tag turns dark and dry then falls off.

Unfortunately I did not think to take before pictures of my face when I had them, but trust me when I say, they were quite alot. But now it's all gone, well actually almost all gone. The ones on my stomach is all gone though.

that's my face with little or no skin tags remaining

Smoothies...The Healthy Drink that is Trending

Hello Everyone,

I am talking health today. I recently decide I want to go on a diet and try to take healthier meals(I said try..lol) and this made me research on smoothies cause everyone seemed to be going on and on about it.

Smoothies have quite a number of health benefits and they are so quick and easy to make. They give you a daily allowance of fruits and vegetables thereby helping you to meet your body's daily nutritional needs.
  • Easier weight loss. There are a number of weight loss programs that promote replacing a meal with a liquid drink. Provide your body with all the vitamins and minerals it needs via smoothies, cut out the weight gaining crap from your diet, and watch the pounds melt away. Lose weight easier than before and slim down the healthy way with diet smoothies.
  • Improved digestion.
  • Delicious.
  • Detox. We’re exposed to and bombarded by thousands of man-made chemicals in today’s world, which leaves our body begging to detoxify. Give your digestive system a break while adding detoxifying ingredients like dandelion greens and kale into your smoothies to aid your body’s detoxification processes.
  • Build muscle and improve athletic performance. Provide your body with the nutrients it needs to excel during athletic competition, and recover and rebuild after working out. It’s easier for your body to absorb and assimilate the nutrients in a smoothie as opposed to a meal.
  • Beauty. Think radiant skin, hair, and nails. Supply your body with the vitamins and minerals it requires to grow healthier hair and make your skin glow.
  • Strengthen your immune system. Getting sick is no fun. Reduce the number of times you get sick (if at all) and lesson the severity by empowering your immune system.
  • Deeper sleep. Improving your health by consuming healthy smoothies almost always results in better sleep at night.
  • Meal flexibility. You can consume a smoothie at any meal, not just breakfast. No time for lunch, grab or make a quick smoothie.
  • Healthy ingredients galore. The number of healthy ingredients available for smoothies is practically limitless. After your basic fruits and vegetables, you can add an array of the various spices, herbs, superfoods, and other health foods. The possibilities and combinations are endless.
  • Energy. Supply your body with the right fuel for more energy in the short and long term.
  • Reduce cravings. We all crave sweets and unhealthy foods from time to time. Reduce those cravings, or better yet, replace what you would normally splurge on with a healthy alternative.

It does not take long to prepare and you can take it any time of the day as it is convenient for you. And kids love it.

Orange Smoothie
