This is a novel written by a very dear friend of mine. Her name is Kemi Santos-Omanukwue. It's a young adult fantasy novel that depicts God, love, tears, voodoo, hate, revenge, fantasy, romance, sea world, merman, mermaid, war, games, sickness, disease, madness, dreams and faith. Trust me when I say it's a must read especially with the fact that it's coming from a fellow Nigerian. I have to say, we are doing great things in this country despite the political and economical situations. The novel is available on these online bookstores on Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com and Xlibris.com
Excerpt from the book..
When fifteen year old Meredith Hart decided it would be best
to disobey her mother by taking a school trip to Ireland,
she never imagined what the repercussions were going to be.
A good grounding would have been foreseeable but nothing that
would mean paying with her life, uncovering her hidden
family history, delving into the sea world, only a few story books
had told her about.
She confronts her conflicting nightmares and tries to live her life,
love a Merman and save what she now knows of her family

About the Author.........
Woke up in the middle of the night and started thinking of all that I had to do for the day and that led to more thoughts of what I still had left to accomplish in my life. I realised that I had done so much and I still had alot more to do. So I took several deep breaths and repeated these simple words... "One step at a time."Inviting thoughts like these for an ambitious person like myself is dangerous and most times intimidating, so it's best to stop.
Draw out a plan and take it on, one by one.
Relax. It's a good way to start.
"Hi." She says to her.
If her answer isn't as simple, then there's an issue. Right? Wrong!
If you have the time, listen to what she has to say. If you don't, then feel free to walk away.
The goals in life are many. The goal is to remain sane (most of the time).
As I unleash this into the world wide web...I'll take a deep breath, and dive in. So here's my first published book Weeping Cherry, please support it anyway you can. It's gonna be great.
My name, Oluwakemi means 'God's pet'. I can write a book on how true that is.
I am the daughter of Late Peter Amancio Santos and Maudlyn Ikeotuonye Santos. I was born on the beautiful island of Lagos, Lagos City, Nigeria.
I am married to a wonderful man and we are blessed with two sons (for now).
I am a Lawyer (Memeber of the Nigerian Bar Association) and a Certified Paralegal (Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada). Presently, I live in Canada.
I love reading, swimming and writing - I think of doing any two of these things everyday.
I started writing in High School, which some consider to be a late start (not me). When it's time... it's time.
I started writing the story Weeping Cherry in High School but I never finished it or named it. It is my first published book but not my only book.
Get as many copies as you like.
